If the weather is "iffy", call the event contact to confirm the event is still happening.
(Thur) Apr 6  MVBCH Business Meeting. NOTE NEW LOCATION: Twisp Works (502 S Glover St). The conference room is in the first building on the right (after you turn into the Twisp Works entrance); the building was formerly the main Forest Service office for many years. We can park in front of the building.

(Fri) Apr13  West Range Ride — Cub Creek. Contact: Cathy Upper (509-429-2955). Ready to ride at 10:00 am. Drive 6 miles north on the West Chewuch Road. Turn left on Cub Creek Road and go 1 mile. Park in the wide area just after you go through the trees. This is a 2 hour ride on old roads with a creek crossing (we can go around if water is high). No permits needed. No lunch. If snow has not melted off, then we’ll ride on Cathy’s ranch towards Buck Lake. Be sure you contact her the night before the ride to confirm you are coming!

(Sat) Apr14 Work Party for Pasture Deer Fence followed by Pot Luck BBQ @ the Dave Creveling/Margaret Schluneger Ranch. Contact: Dave Creveling (509-923-2003 or cell: 509-631-4860). We have a special opportunity to help MVBCH members David Creveling and Margaret Schluneger finish rebuilding deer fencing on their property that was destroyed during the 2014 Carlton Complex Fire. They have already replaced 1.5 miles of the deer fencing and need our help to finish up the last 1/4 mile. We’ll celebrate with a pot luck BBQ afterwards. David and Margaret will provide steaks and hamburgers, so please bring a side dish or dessert. All tools and fence materials are provided and on site; bring or wear work gloves/boots. Pot Luck BBQ after work party; Dave and Margaret will provide steak/hamburgers so bring side dishes or dessert and whatever you want to drink while working and eating. Important—Bring  your camp chair! DIRECTIONS: Go 4.5 miles south of Carlton on Hwy 153. Turn onto Stokes Road (only one way to turn) and go to 85 Stokes Road. The fence line is above and along the County Road; parking is on the county road. We plan to install about 1/4 mile deer fencing. Contact Dave if you need more info on location.   

(Fri) Apr 20  Spring Ride Work Party—Beaver Creek Campground cleanup. Contacts:  DK Williams (360-676-1319) or Cathy Upper (509-429-2955). Start work at 9:00 a.m.; bring work gloves, boots, rakes, shovels, etc. to clean the campground for the Spring Ride. Check with DK or Cathy before you go so you’ll be prepared! YOU’LL NEED A DISCOVERY PASS! 
(Sun) Apr  22  Spring Ride Trail Flagging Party — Beaver Creek Campground.  Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). Meet at 10:00 at Beaver Creek Campground; bring your horse and your lunch!  YOU’LL NEED A DISCOVERY PASS! 
(Thu) April 26  Spring Ride Setup. Contact:  DK Williams (360-676-1319). Start work at 9:00 a.m.; Tents/Tables set-up in Beaver Creek campground for registration/auction/logo wear sales, and firewood brought in for main campfire.
(Fri-Su) Apr 27-29   2018 Annual MVBCH Spring Ride @ Beaver Creek Campground. Contact: Bev Phillippi (509-668-1024). See Registration form on page 6 of this newsletter or  MVBCH.com or Facebook.  YOU’LL NEED A DISCOVERY PASS!

(Wed) May 9  Golden Doe Ride.  Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). Bring lunch! DIRECTIONS: Golden Doe Wildlife Area is on the Twisp/Carlton Road (west side) approximately 7 miles south of Twisp. Flags/ribbons will mark the site for the ride. Park along the road near the flags/ribbons, or park at the small cabin on the right side of the road. The cabin marks the trailhead. The trail is mostly old logging road and winds upward to a plateau for lunch. This is a 4-hour ride (including lunch) with beautiful views over the Valley. Ready to ride at 10:00, and invite someone new to ride with us!
(Fri-Sun) May 11-13  49’ers Day in Winthrop.
(Mon) May 14  Patterson Mountain/Moccasin Lake Ride. Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). Bring lunch! Meet at the Moccasin Lake Ranch on Patterson Lake Road just west of Winthrop; park by the arena. This is a 4-hour ride (including lunch) on a steep, climbing dirt road. There are beautiful views of the Cascade Range where we’ll have lunch. Ready to ride at 10:00. We have permission to ride on this private property.
(Sat-Sun) May 19-20  Methow Valley Trails Collaborative/MVBCH Work Party @ Lewis Butte & Riser Lake. Contact: Cathy Upper (509-429-2955). Details to be finalized, more information to follow. 
(Wed) May 23 Fraser Creek Wildlife Area Ride. Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). Bring lunch! DIRECTIONS: Take #20 (Loup Loup) for 6.7 miles from the #153 turnoff to the Frazer Creek Wildlife sign. Take the Frazer Creek Wildlife turnoff and go approximately 500 yards to find parking. Don’t forget your lunch! The trail is mixed road and trail with some hilly areas. Views from the ride look down-river in the Methow Valley. Approximately a 4-hour ride with lunch. Ready to ride at 10:00. FYI: Cattle may be grazing in the area.
(Sat) May 26 Western Sale — 9:00 @ Twisp Senior Center.
