(Thu) Sep 7  Regular Business Meeting. 7 pm @ Methow Valley Senior Center.
(Sat) Sep 16 3rd Qtr BCHW Directors' Meeting. Director Mary Pat Bauman will attend.
(Wed) Sep 20  Hamburger Ride. Contact: Bill and Jan Ford (509-997-0133). Location: Meet at the Ford’s home, 302 Twisp River Road. (Three miles from Twisp on N. side of road. Turn into driveway under “crossover” next to brown house and shed). Coffee “plus” provided at 9.00AM. Ride out 10.00 a.m. Hamburger lunch is about 1:00 p.m. (Non-riders always welcome!!). Bring your own chairs, drink, and a pot luck dish to share (hamburgers are provided). We ride over the Big Buck (Fish and Wildlife), but park at Ford’s place or their neighbor's so no permits required. Big Buck is about 5,500 acres and we choose a different route each year.  It is a mix of dirt roads and trails, and hills and valleys; there are some beautiful views of the Cascades. There are no bridges or creeks to cross. It’s usually about 2 hours of fairly relaxed riding. The time for lunch is flexible and we allow time for people to care for their horses after the ride. Please contact Jan and Bill with questions.
(Sat) Sep 30 Burch Mountain Ride or 8 mile Ride--Ride out at 9:30. Contact: Cathy Upper (509-429-2955). THIS RIDE IS CANCELED DUE TO THE DIAMOND CREEK WILDFIRE IN THE AREA.
(Thu) Oct 5  Harvest Pot Luck Dinner and Regular Business Meeting. Pot Luck Dinner @ 6pm and Business Meeting @ 7pm in the Methow Valley Senior Center.

These next 3 rides can be done in a 2 or 3 night campout or 3 individual rides.
Your choice!
(Mon) Oct 9  Latte Ride. Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). Location: Park and start at Brown’s Farm (MVSTA Parking area). DIRECTIONS: Go west from Winthrop on Highway 20 for approximately 9 miles to get to Upper Wolf Creek Road. Turn left onto Upper Wolf Creek Road; parking is on the right. Ride out at 10:00 and enjoy a Latte or lunch at the Mazama Store. This ride is fairly flat and approximately 5 ½ miles each way. We plan to see some great fall colors.
(Tues) Oct 10  Cutthroat Lake Ride. Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). This trail is an easy ride with a gentle slope and nice surface. The lake is surrounded by rocky cliffs. The trail gradually climbs through a thin forest, past some huge lichen-covered granite boulders. A few small ups and downs and the lake (finally) comes into view, surrounded by rocky cliffs. UPDATE! The ride may continue past the lake to Cutthroat Pass; bring lunch. If you prefer to return to your rig after arriving at the lake (without going to the pass), be sure you have someone who will ride back with you. Contact Betty Wagoner if you have any questions. LOCATION: Drive west on Highway 20 from Winthrop, and just a few miles before you reach Washington Pass there is a side road on the right that is clearly marked “Cutthroat Lake Trailhead”. That road goes about a mile and ends in a small parking lot (with a pit toilet).
(Wed) Oct 11  Big Valley Ride.  Contact: Betty Wagoner (509-279-8717). DIRECTIONS: Go approximately 6 miles west from Winthrop on Highway 20. Turn towards the river on Dripping Springs Road and go to Dept. of Wildlife parking area. Ride out at 10:00. Ride is very flat, and approximately 5 miles round trip with a beautiful lunch area along the Methow River (bring your lunch!!). We are anticipating great fall colors!
